The New New Nexus

Reports were making the rounds today that Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar are in talks with the WWE.

According to backstage WWE sources, CM Punk mentioning Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar, and Colt Cabana during his promo on RAW may not have been a coincidence. There are rumors that all three could be returning to WWE.

CM Punk recently asked WWE to hire his good friend Colt Cabana. He also requested that Colt be placed on the main roster. This was a sticking point as to whether Punk would re-sign with the company. As far as CM Punk's future is concerned, WWE's creative team has been told that he's finishing up with the company at the Money in the Bank PPV. Of course, that could change depending on what Punk decides to do. Most backstage feel he's leaving come July 17th. WWE has an offer on the table right now for him to stay.

As of last week, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar had either made a deal or were at the very least in serious negotiations for a business relationship with WWE. As far as Lesnar is concerned, word is that he will not be returning to TV as a character. Heyman's deal would be similar to Lesnar's. No word on what the busines deal is just yet."

Of course if they were coming in to be on TV it would be denied.

This would be the most awesome angle that has been done since the inclusion of ECW in the Invasion angle.

Imagine a heel stable, with Heyman at the helm, with CM Punk as WWE Champion, Colt Cabana, Brock Lesnar, and maybe even some other ROH stars like "Daniel Bryan" and maybe even Samoa Joe. It would be incredible. They could have this group seem like a group of outsiders, that come and go on WWE programming, ROH programming, in Japan, wherever.

If such a group ever were to form, and they needed a manager, Paul Heyman would be the guy. For my money, the best Heel manager of the last 20 years would be Paul E. He knows just what to say, when to say it, and gets heat when he needs it, and can also turn the fans against him in a second.

In my opinion, if one can get over as a face, then they will be a mega heel. Heyman had the fans of ECW eating out of the palm of his hand, every time he picked up a microphone.

This group would be huge, and would help ROH, and the WWE. If the WWE wants to continue to make money, and make even more money, it is to their benefit to have companies like ROH prosper, because there are only so many superstars that you can make with the FCW and NXT.

Wrestlers, oh I'm sorry "superstars" need a platform to make themselves, and with so many wrestlers on the current roster not even being able to make themselves, they need a place to do that, places like ROH could definitely be that place.

With almost a national audience being able to see ROH programming later this year, it is the best place, it could be the ECW of the '10s. The attitude era came from ECW, what era will ROH create? Only time will tell, but if this angle is happening, it would surely kick it off, with a bang.
