Promo heard 'round the world...

If you missed the promo heard 'round the world Monday, you missed one of the most amazing moments in Raw history. CM Punk let loose a worked, shoot promo that was so controversial many thought it was a complete shoot, and very well could have been. If you missed it, here's the video:

A scorching promo that rocked the wrestling world, so scorching in fact, that almost everyone is commenting on it:

Stone Cold Steve Austin: @CMPunk just melted my 52 inch TV with a scorching hot promo...delivery, content, and attitude...one of the best promos I've ever seen.

JBL: "CM Punk's promo-shoot or work? Who cares? When you are so good that you can put that doubt in viewers minds you have done your job very well"

JBL Via his Facebook: "I haven't watched a wrestling program since well before I left WWE 2+ years ago. Heard about CM Punk's promo and watched it this morning-WOW! That was awesome, as good as I have ever seen. I worked with CM when he first became champ-really enjoyed it and really happy to see what a stud he has become. When you can put doubt as to whether shoot or work-you have done your job very well!"

Chavo Guerrero: "Did u see @CmPunk promo last night? WOW! If all those things are being said by a guy being used...think how I feel! Good Job Punk! Work or shoot, @CmPunk 's promo was true. I know Punk & half if not all of that promo was off the cuff. Cm Punk has always done things his Way, and for that I admire him. Kudos Punker! :)"

Everyone is talking, and it seems like the WWE is finally doing something that is actually creative. I've heard speculation and rumors about Punk winning the belt, and going to ROH and defending it, and things like that which would be awesome, but I don't know if the WWE would do that.

It wouldn't be the first time they let their superstars, wrestle for other promotions, however; there was the time with Matt Hardy, when he would do run ins, and then wrestle for ROH to make it seem like he really was intruding, which was cool while it lasted. 

There was also the awkward period when Brian Danielson was future endeavored , and wrestled for some indies, before returning quickly, which seemed at the time, like just a way to get him away from the Nexus, and of course the whole fiasco at the end of ECW where Taz wrestled Mike Awesome, for the ECW Championship and then defended the ECW title on WWE programming. 


I can not remember a time where the WWE championship was defended in a non WWE ring, it would certainly be an awesome concept. However, the only awesome thing about WWE might just be the Miz.
